Wayne Atkins is a 3rd generation builder with a
passion for energy efficient construction. He is a
Master Builder, Aging in Place Specialist and a
Certified Green Professional.
After graduating from Texas A&M with an
environmental design degree, Wayne worked for a commercial architectural firm in
Atlanta. Soon he realized that his real love was in the residential arena. This led him to study residential framing in Virginia followed by a move to North Texas to start a design/build company -- Atkins Design Group, Inc.
In 2003 Wayne was introduced to the principals of building science. This began a multiple year study of making houses more efficient. From framing to energy use, building science principals have allowed Wayne to continually push the envelope in energy efficient design and construction.
Atkins started Sterling Brook Custom Homes in 2009 to concentrate on building high performance custom homes. Atkins Design Group continues designing beautiful, custom homes and remodels under the direction of his wife, Cherri Atkins. He is also a member of the Dallas Builders Association and Green Built Texas.
Award-winning builder Chris Miles has more than 35 years of experience in the industry. A student of building science, Miles is known for building green,
high-performance homes.
While with GreenCraft Builders he built numerous exceptional houses. In 2007 the LEED-Platinum Bannister High Performance House was built under the auspices of Building Science Consortium and Building America. In 2008-09 he built the LEED-H Silver and NAHB Green Built Gold Colleyville Eco House also under the auspices of the Building Science Consortium and Building American. The TimberCreek LEED-Platinum Zero Energy house was built in Lewisville, TX in 2010-11.
Awards include the NAHB 2008 Energy Value Award Silver (EVHA) and the EVHA People’s Choice award for the Bannister House. The Colleyville Eco House won the Silver EVHA award. The TimberCreek Zero Energy House won the EVHA gold award.He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Builders Association Denton County Chapter, is a member of NARI Greater Dallas. Miles is a founding member and was the 2009 Chairman of Green Built Texas through the Dallas Builders Association.
For 18 years Chris has also been the host of the popular “House Talk Today” radio program currently broadcasting on 660 AM The Answer.

Cherri Atkins is an award-winning designer holding a degree
from the University of North Texas in Interior Design with a
minor in Industrial Technology.
With more than 20 years of experience in residential and
commercial design, she specializes in creating individuals
masterpieces for each client that incorporates space planning,
energy efficiency and client budget planning.
Project sizes have ranges from 900 to over 10,000 square feet with architectural styles varying from country cottage to ultra-contemporary.
Whether it is new construction or a remodel, Cherri embraces the challenge of making each client’s wish list a reality.

Barbara Gilbert Interiors is a highly sought after
Interior Design Firm who specializes in high-end
residential & commercial interior design.
Barbara and her team create spaces that truly
reflect their client's personality, encompassing,
but not limited to, classic designs with an updated
twist and can handle any project from concept to completion.
A respected expert in her field, Barbara Gilbert has contributed her advice to television and radio programs such as Good Morning Texas, DFW Closeup, KXAS DFW Nonstop and House Talk Today Radio.
She has also served as a presenter for the 2011 Dallas Home and Garden Show and a judge of the 2011 and 2012 Habitat for Humanity Design Duels.
Recent honors include first place in the 2013 ASID Legacy of Design Awards-Bathrooms, 2012 & 2013 Best of Houzz award, 2013 Design Shuffle top 10 award, and her work has been featured on HGTV Remodel publication.
An international publication called Cheers! Wine Cellar Design, by ArtPower Publishing featured a wine cellar created by Barbara Gilbert Interiors in their book.
